My One-of-a-Kind Practice Approach

I value a holistic, empirically-based, integrative approach to counseling, functional medicine, ministering, and coaching. That is why addressing my clients’ physical, emotional, and spiritual issues are at the heart of what I do.

I am fundamentally motivated to lead others to overcome challenges and odds as I serve them by offering advice, information, and emotional support, helping to make an impact that produces positive substantial change in their lives.

My counseling, clinical, coaching, and pastoral experiences include (but are not limited to):

Mental Health:

Everyone experiences difficulties in life that can start to overwhelm us and often we might try to fix these issues in unhealthy ways or deny them altogether. In the long run, these solutions never work and this is why uncovering the real causes and issues is so important. Counseling will address the root of unhealthy behaviors and ways of thinking so that healing may occur.

  • Undermethylation/Overmethylation Issues

Physical Health:

We often categorize our health needs, separating them into mental and physical health. The reality is that when we are having poor physical health, there is an increased risk of developing mental health problems. Likewise, if we are having mental health problems, there is a high probability that our physical health is at risk as well.

With my clinical experience as a registered nurse and functional medicine practitioner, I can help my clients with the following physical health problems:

  • Adrenal Fatigue
  • Autoimmune Issues
  • Biochemical Disorders and Imbalances
  • Candidiasis
  • Detox Needs
  • Food Sensitivity
  • Gut Dysbiosis
  • Hormone Therapy
  • Labs
  • Managing Chronic Diseases and Acute Issues
  • Nutrition and Food Sensitivities
  • Thyroid Issues

I do lab assessments and interpretations, as well as conventional labs such as hormone panels, thyroid panels, CBC, chemistry panels, etc. Advanced functional medicine labs, which include (but are not limited to) genetic panels, food sensitivities, micronutrient labs, adrenal labs, and neurotransmitter labs are also available.

Although I don’t hold back in utilizing conventional medicine when needed, my method allows me to meet your needs from the avenue of prevention, intervention, and identifying the root issues and not just symptoms. In addition to maximizing your time and resources, I would love for you to experience my five-fold approach to address the various issues you are facing. This includes:

  1. I will systematically evaluate and assess your psychological, spiritual, and clinical needs.
  2. We will have discussions that will focus on skill development and lifestyle behavior change, along with information dissemination and awareness building customized to your needs.
  3. I will be helping you in the process of learning new life skills to replace your old habits. This will help you have a more balanced and healthy spiritual, mental, emotional, physical, social, and career lifestyle. Learning how to balance these six dimensions can help you engage positively in all facets of your life.
  4. I will teach you how to implement, integrate, and practice your new lifestyle, which will result in you being able to live a healthy and peaceful life.
  5. When required, I will collaborate with other clinicians and specialists to help you reach your goals.

Emotional Health:

Our emotional health and well-being are vital parts of living a life of peace. That is why it is important to identify your emotions. It is worth remembering that our feelings have value and they are part of who we are.

However, not all our emotions are healthy or helpful, and we should become emotionally intelligent so we can identify our feelings and use them constructively. By learning how to monitor and control our emotions, we can conduct ourselves rationally, rather than overreacting.

I offer the following services to help with various needs:

  • Children/Teen Counseling
  • Family Counseling
  • Individual/Couple/Marriage Issues and Resolution
  • Lifestyle Coaching
  • Marriage Coaching/Enrichment
  • Parenting Coaching
  • Weight Loss and Wellness Coaching
  • Business Coaching
  • Life Coaching

Spiritual Health:

Another vital part of our overall wellness is our spiritual health. Spiritual healing may not cure all that is wrong, but it can be a source of hope as you learn to overcome your troubles. It is about being able to find peace and comfort at even the most difficult times in your life.

  • And Other Mental, Physical, Emotional, and Spiritual Problems That People Face

More than 20 years ago, God gave me my life verse: “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free.” — Luke 4:18

I have taken this Scripture to heart and received training and certifications with this in mind. When working, I rely on Him to work through me when I work with my clients in three distinct ways: the power, truth, and the fruit of the Spirit.

I utilize Scripture and prayer techniques such as Trauma prayer and Freedom prayer, which empower believers to abide in Christ. This can help to transform the heart and mind, allowing us to be the purest expression of who God created us to be.

There is an alternative to being governed by rules and restrictions, and that’s a life that embraces grace, which means having freedom that surpasses rule-keeping. It is living a life that is so free, nothing controls you—no substance, no feeling, no event in the past, or no worry about the future.

God has called you to freedom! Listen to His call, and do not spoil this gift by using your liberty to engage in harmful, self-destructive patterns. Instead, use it to live life in freedom. “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” — John 8:36
